Video and sound stream visible recording, but display screen keeps blue

I have connected a VHS player through a video capture device.
What I can see is the recording of audio and video are both active, but I only get a blue screen.

Am I missing some settings anywhere?

Also when I active start recording I get a popup of missing encoding. I have a 'normal laptop with onboard intel HD grafics.

What you see is the capture device reporting "no signal". This means the capture device can be properly accessed by OBS, but the capture device isn't able to detect a signal from the VHS player. Make sure you use proper cabling from the VHS player to the capture device.
