VHS to Digital conversion no audio...

I am using a simple digit now converter with windows 11 and have been succesfully converting VHS to digital files for about six weeks now that was until my laptop became stuck on mute, a problem rectified by uninstalling audio drivers and restarting my computer.

After watching a number of videos on youtube dealing with similar issues and having no success I am wondering whether the cause of the problem may have come from the uninstalling of the drivers?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

No audio drivers on the computer... yea that would be an issue. There would be some default Windows OS audio drivers, but they may not work on your PC
Use native Operating System tools (ex Windows Recorder, or similar) to test audio capture. IF that doesn't work, I'd recommend fix at OS layer before trying to work in OBS
