VHS Capture suddenly not working

I'm new to using OBS and have been using it at my library to transfer tapes from VHS to USB drive for our patrons. It was working fine last week but now I only get a blue screen when I press play. I tried removing and adding the device a bunch of times and I'm just stumped why this is happening since I did ten tapes last week without a problem!

you may need to check the support pages for the VHS to USB device for support with this issue. can you view the video with another app to confirm that everything is sending to the computer properly?

Yes, I'm using an El Gato and it came with software, I just think it comes out better if I tweak it a little in OBS. Weirdly after my lunch break the video was just playing and working, but now I can't get the sound to play. I remember this happening when I first started, but I don't remember how I fixed it. Any suggestions?
