I have been looking for the right piece of software that will allow me to use my headphones while listening to the 5.1 speakers while watching a streaming movie via my desktop computer.
OBS seems like it should fit my needs. Which is, so I can connect either my desktop monitor OR Denon AVR (remote that is run from computer desktop to AVR via long HDMI cable) depending on which one I have switched to. I'm currently using Soundswitch for that on-demand transfer of Video with audio.
However, I find that the Global Audio Device (#2), "Denon AVR" won't stay in the software whenever the device is turned off. I have to go in and manually select it each time I want to use it (after being switched) ..argh.
Of course the desktop monitor stays in the Global Audio Device settings (as #1) because it is set to default in the Windows display parameters.
But with Soundswitch, it switches those Windows defaults whenever it is triggered: desktop monitor default becomes AVR default.
But OBS doesn't see that and so it dumps the Denon AVR as GAD #2. So the next time I want to use the other device it ain't there in GAD.
My question is, how can I set this (device #2) so that it will _stay in the background and wait_ for its device #2 (AVR) to be called (ie, follow Soundswitch command)?
