Hi,
i came from xsplit and the old obs.
Both running fine if i choose vbr and a bitrate for example 2000kbit in livestreaming.
In black or still pictures the bitrate drops instantly but in studio its constant like cbr.

Do i missing something?

I cannot confirm this. What conditions? Encoder, settings, where is the log-file?
What you expect from VBR and how do you think it "broken"?

CRF parameter is main for VBR encoding and if bitrate lower then CRF value internal requirements (of the bitrate) then output bitrate is shrink to not exceed the VBR bitrate setting. Usually, high CRF values produces less bitrate videos than that VBR limit.

Make test videos of fixed length (duration), predefined input and compare file size. If VBR setting is higher than CRF=0 do, then this video's bitrate limited at bitrate as CRF=0 produces - no need to padding whole stream with zeros. The quality of the test videos (output) could vary in time (temporal change).

For compatibility, please use CBR for streaming.

Some info about encoding abbreviations CBR, ABR, VBR, CRF available in OBS Studio Help Guide: https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...ware-studio-multiplatform-help-guide-pdf.365/

Edit: Maybe you need ABR?

VBR is intentionally disabled for streaming, because you aren't supposed to use it for streaming. You would need to uncheck the "Enforce streaming service encoder settings" box if you truly want to use such terrible stream settings.

VBR can break the ingest servers (at least for Twitch, no idea about other platforms - but everyone uses RTMP so think your part) and it is way harder to watch since your bitrate will float from almost nothing (scene without movement) up to the max. Only a good connection can handle that, but most people dont get a really good connection.
