Question / Help using serveillance ip cameras

Hi, I'm setting up a top down camera for people to watch us play magic the gathering on twitch.

Can someone tell me, will it be very difficult to set up a surveillance camera running through our intranet? Will there be much lag?

How would I go about setting up an ip camera? That is a camera that is set up with a ethernet cable and recoginzed by the computer through a switch.

The question is: How do you access that camera in general?
If you can access the camera footage via webbrowser, you might be able to insert it in OBS via Browser-Source.
If there is a video-url to that camera, that can be accessed by VLC Player, you can insert the videostream in OBS the same way, that you would insert a local video file.
