Question / Help Using quick keys to changes scenes vs G Hub

So I'll start off with: I'm a teacher, new to streaming, but the current pandemic has me teaching from home. I want to give my students the best experience possible so I'm using Zoom conjointly with OBS to have a better control of my content via the Virtual Cam pluggin.

That being said it's been annoying having to click to swap scenes throughout class.

I have a Logitech G613 keyboard that has 6 "G buttons" that I can bind to macros using G hub software.

Now would it be easier to make a macro to change scenes or can I use hotkeys directly, as focus is NOT on OBS when I teach. It's a one PC set up with 3 monitors. One for obs, one for the presentation (with graphic tablet so i can annotate) and one to manage class/chat.

Thanks :) btw I have no idea if I should be asking that here or somewhere else. If you could kindly point me to the right place, that'd be lovely as well! Thanks again!

It's perfectly possible to do that. First, in OBS Settings->Hotkeys you define a different hotkey for every scene to switch to that scene. For example, use CTRL-ALT-F1 to CTRL-ALT-F6 for 6 scenes. Test the hotkeys with actually pressing CTRL-ALT-F1 to CTRL-ALT-F6 on your keyboard and verify OBS is switching the scene. If this is working, go to your mouse software and define these keys as keybindings to your 6 mouse buttons.

Keep in mind that if you run OBS Studio as admin, you need to run your mouse software as admin as well, otherwise OBS will not get the simulated keys. If you run OBS Studio not as admin, the mouse software also doesn't need to run as admin.
