Hey guys i know i posted before but this is my main problem that i'm trying to solve currently. So i record league of legends gameplay and i don't commentate during those games. I just use the recording settings to get some good content going. However, when i want to add some commentary to my gameplay i need to use OBS again to record the already recorded footage. (sorry this is so confusing). But basically i get windows media player footage (i also use VLC media player) from the start and then i use OBS again to record that VLC media player footage but with commentary. Unfortunately, when i use OBS to record the gameplay footage the end product of this recording just goes down by alot. The entire FPS of the gameplay footage decreases drastically and it looks terrible to the first product. I'm not sure what i can do or if this is supposed to happen and if it is i'm doomed because i can't really add commentary.

My dxDiag is below and my OBS settings as well

Basically what i'm asking is is there anyway i can make it so my recordings over my already recorded gameplay can maintain the quality it had before with my commentary? It's just so frustrating seeing the quality decrease.

To make a voice commentary in a postprocessing step, you usually record your voice only with a voice recording software, for example Audacity. Then you mix your commentary with the ingame sound from your video, making a standalone audio track. And then you replace the original audio track from your video with the new audio track you just made. You don't re-record your video, so it keeps the original quality.

Without using Audacity, you could do it this way: You already overdubbed the game sound with your commentary, but have a bad video quality since you re-recorded your video from your video player. Extract the audio track from this recording and insert it into your original video. You can do this with any video editing software. A freeware software that is capable of doing this is Avidemux.

Make copies of your original video. Don't edit it directly, otherwise you could lose either the audio or video track.
