Hello everyone,
I'm new here and hope you can help me. I’m using OBS Studio to create a digital stage design for our theater performances. We have nine plays, each with different background images, video overlays, and pop-up images.

I’ve set up the plays as scenes and added the respective content as sources.

My problem:
Whenever I start OBS, a scene with all its associated sources starts playing automatically. This is inconvenient since I need to follow the show live and trigger the content manually (e.g., by double-clicking or similar actions).

Questions:
  • Am I setting something up incorrectly?
  • Is there a plugin or feature that makes it easier to manually trigger content during the show?
I’d be grateful for any tips or suggestions!

There is an eye icon for every source in the "Sources" list that toggles visibility if clicked. Make all sources invisible you don't want to show at the start.

If you include videos, check the properties of the media source and use the "restart playback when source becomes active" option (making it visible by clicking the eye icon is making the source active, so the video starts from the beginning if you make it visible).

You can also create groups and put sources into the group, then toggle the visibility of the whole group.
