Question / Help Using Multiple Graphics Cards

I just upgraded to a new Windows 10 laptop and reinstalled OBS. For the first time, I was able to use game capture easily, but monitor capture, which always worked fine on my previous laptop, gives a black screen. One quirk of my new laptop is that it has two graphics cards. Some specs are found here: http://aethon056.deviantart.com/art/New-Laptop-Specs-575512087

After reading several threads (especially this one https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/monitor-capture-not-working.5211/) I found out how to switch OBS manually to the intel card with the NVIDIA control panel. This seems to enable the monitor capture, but now the game capture is again black screening. Is there a way to set OBS to use different cards for different capture modes?

Just a note, in the OBS settings, under video, I did try switching the video adapter to both cards, along with restarting OBS each time, but this did not seem to help. Also, I'm using OBS 0.657b. I tried the multiplatform version, but it was having the same issues.

Finally, I apologize in advance if I'm doing this forum thread thing incorrectly. I've never posted on a forum before.

No, this is the limitation of many laptops. The 3D card is only used for gaming, while the integrated handles desktop. It's a one or the other thing.

You can either use Game/Window capture with the 3D card, or monitor capture with the integrated. You *may* be able to use a Game Capture on the DWM process to do a Windows 7 style fast monitor cap, but no guarantees.
