Using ffmpeg to record audio as wav

Hello. I'm attempting to get higher quality audio when recording, not when streaming. I found this video which explains how to do this.

Problem is that ffmpeg is not showing up as an option.

In settings -> output -> recording -> type
He is showing Custom Output (FFmpeg).
I do not get this option, only Standard.

I have installed ffmpeg, it's in the path, typing "ffmpeg -version" at the command prompt does return the version which would indicate to me it is in the path.

I have restarted OBS. I have restarted the computer.

Windows 7, OBS is updated.

Can anyone help me out here? Thank you - Randi

You can't record just audio with OBS & Windows 7 isn't supported anymore.

Use Audacity, the latest version still supports W7.

The last version of OBS I was using with W7 was 24.0.3.

Here is an example if you're recording video too: NVENC H265 with 24/48 PCM.

OBS shipped with all required libs, so you don't need to install the FFmpeg.
Make sure that you have clear install of OBS.
