Question / Help using capture card but obs is streaming all pc audio

i am using an elgato game capture hd to stream my xbox 360 to twitchtv and my problem is that obs is picking up all audio that is playing on my pc while streaming (example: listening to a movie on netflix on my pc while streaming and it ends up streaming the netflix audio too), i've disabled all microphones in windows control panel and have the mic audio on mute on obs' control panel and disabled mic in obs settings, i've been messing with settings for 2 hours but i can not figure out what i'm doing wrong, is obs just streaming my pc audio and there is no option to disable it?

OBS will stream all desktop audio that is set to your desktop audio device. If you don't want to stream desktop audio device, then mute it by clicking on the speaker icon. If you only want audio from certain programs than you may need a program like Virtual Audio Cable and use that to choose which audio you want from your desktop.

ahh, that worked thank you, clicking mute on desktop audio would mute all the audio including my capture device, the vac solution worked, just had to install that and make sure my audio card was set as default audio device in windows and then set desktop audio in obs settings as virtual line 1 =]
