Using Amazon AWS for IRL RTMP streaming to my OBS, wanna find a way to auto scene switch when RTMP is down.

ok, its a bit complicated, at least for me.
i have set up a virtual machine with ngnix on it so i can irl stream from my phone using this tutorial https://youtu.be/O0SOYS6_Bnw. it works, the VLC video source works fine.
i know there is an option to do it all locally like in this tutorial https://youtu.be/_GTOb8lmOB8 but it won't work for me, i think because i have a DNS on my modem i can't get through
Now, i have 2 problems:
1. if my phone stream cuts off the VLC Video Source just freezes until i reconnect my phone to stream. i tried getting a "reconnecting" text below the video in case i disconnect but the VLC covers it even when i'm disconnected. is there a way to make the VLC source disappear when i'm not connected?
2. i know there is a low bitrate scene switcher, but i have no idea how to make it work on my local OBS with the bit info from the phone stream to the Virtual machine.
any ideas anyone? i tried many things, but its way above my knowledge level.
