Question / Help Using all My CPU

Trying to capture a google hangout, and everything is running fine till I hit record then OBS starts using up over 85% of my CPU. the Video starts getting super laggy then after 10 sec the video freezes but the audio still records. Its a late 2013 Mac Book Pro with 2.5GHz i5 and 8gb of ram.

Any help appreciated
 
I've started to have this problem as of today, it freezes after like a couple hours for me. But yes I can get 50% CPU usage when I have the elgato on as well, I use OBS to capture the window and to put a face cam up, but it eats up my CPU.
 
IIRC, you technically have 400% to play with as that processor is quad core. I'm not a tech wizard, do I can't be sure.
