Question / Help Using a capture card for PC games

Heya.
I have a pretty bad PC for streaming PC games, well i have been able to stream some games pretty good (especially with Quicksync and NVENC)
  • Intel Core i5 2500K
  • 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3
  • 2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
But now i'm wondering about one thing.

I'm not really that techsavvy when it comes to stuff like this so bear with me for this question.
I have a Razer Ripsaw that i use to stream console games, it works great and is amazingly good, zero delay on it aswell it captures the exact same thing as i see on my monitor which is awesome.
Now i'm wondering.

If i connect the Ripsaw directly to my PC, i mean HDMI on monitor, To Ripsaw, HDMI from Ripsaw to GPU and the cable into USB3, would it be used to somewhat "cheat" the system maybe?

I have already tried connect it like this and i can get picture on my monitor, it's just that i'm wondering if i do like this and in OBS use Video Capture Device for my Ripsaw. I have tried this and i get picture in OBS.

The thing i'm wondering about now is performance, since i was in a hurry i couldn't really test it full out in OBS, by doing this will there be any changes in performance or would it be the same old basically?

Sorry for a stupid question, but i have been thinking a lot about this recently.

Adding a capture card to the same machine you're trying to capture will make performance WORSE.
