Question / Help Use Twitch stream as source

Hi,

I search for weeks and try many things (Nginx-rtmp, livestreamer, VLC etc...) but I just don't know how to use a Twitch stream as source in OBS.

I want to scrap the Riot Games Stream and import it to OBS for a Viewing Party in my cinema (with their agreement).

Thanks you. :)

Use VLC in conjunction with the stream address. Plenty of how-tos out there on how to watch Twitch in VLC. Then just capture the window in OBS.

Be aware that rebroadcasting Riot content is copyright infringement without written consent.

I try this, but what I want is to avoid to use window capture. :/ If I have no choice, I will do it, but for the moment I search for an alternative.

For the copyright infringement, I have a express autorisation to do this.

Yeah, there's no way to directly capture the stream as a source natively. Window Capture is extremely fast though, so long as you have Aero turned on.

Window Capture works pretty awesome.. never had any issues with it. Only time when I don't use it is if the game cannot be turned into windowed mode. There is an option in VLC so the Title in the window does not change... so anything you run in widow capture in VLC will always work(just make sure you have disabled the "Resize Interface to video size".

Disable Title: Tools > Preferences > Show Settings : All > Interface: Main Interface > Qt > *uncheck* show playing item name in window title

Disable the auto resize window: Tools > Preferences > Interface > "uncheck" Resize Interface to video size
-So just set the window exactly how you want it, and it will always stay like that when you play any video
