Question / Help Use of Blackmagic Intensity Pro

So guys, big question here...

After 6-8 months of rolling with a free xSplit trial, I decided to make the leap to OBS. Very happy so far for Minecraft and desktop streaming. However I do stream CoD quite often. Now in xSplit I had no problem simply inserting the declink video capture into the program, setting it to the same settings as my Xbox and off I went. If I try to do the same in OBS I get a black screen in the program and a blank screen on my TV.

If someone has a setup for the BMIP on OBS then that would be FANTASTIC!

<3 Thanks in advance guys!

Damn, after playing around myself. I seem to of fixed it.

Instead of using the usual xSplit and other program settings, I had to set them to custom size and framerate. (These matched the same default settings I had entered in Declink, so IDK what is happening there.)

Matt, I'm having the same problem except I cannot seem to fix it.

Can you help me? I'm trying to get a stream up and running but just get black screen.

I'm streaming from an X Box 360. The X Box is outputting at 720. everything else sees to be in working order.

The only time I can get the HDMI bypass to work is when I use Media Express/

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

You have to match the input resolution and frame rate from the external device (in your case an Xbox 360) in both OBS' settings for the video capture device source AND the BlackMagic Control Panel. You also have to select the correct input in the BlackMagic Control Panel as well.

I've done that and I still cant seem to get it to work. How do I know the frame rate to select? I'm selecting 60. Still all I get is black screen.

In the sources I have the frame rate set to 60, and resolution set to 1280x720.

under settings in the video section, I have the base resolution set to 1280x720. same with the down sacle section (no down scale but set to 60 fps).

also in the BMIP control panel I have it set to HD 720 60.

Am I missing anything?

The frame rate should be set to 59.97, as that's what the Xbox 360 will be outputting. Really, you just have to make sure to match the settings exactly between OBS and the Control Panel, and it'll work.

As for WHY the Black Magic cards do this, rather than function like other capture devices do, I wish I could tell you. They have the functionality in place in their own SDK to avoid things like these, but they've used none of it in their DirectShow drivers.
