Question / Help Use OBS and Drivers With Logitech C920

I have a Logitech C920, and I use it with OBS. I want to be able to use the webcam drives (for zooming, focus, etc.) while using OBS, but when the drivers are running, OBS doesn’t work, and when OBS is running, the drivers don’t work.

There was a forum post a while ago about this, and it concluded with the fact that you have to close the drivers to use OBS. I was wondering if there is any possible way to use Logitech Camera Settings, Logitech G Hub, or Logitech Gaming Software with OBS. It would be nice to be able to use my webcam to it’s full potential.

I am on Windows 10 October Update.

I have the same cam..
RIGHT click on your webcam source, click 'properties'/ Configure Video and the cam controls should be there including zoom..

Long story short, it's a limitation with how data is fed from the webcam to the program. Only one program can establish a connection at a time. This limitation also applies to capture cards.

If you really want to use the Logitech software to set your camera controls, then you can open OBS first, and then open up whichever Logitech program you use. You'll get a blank preview from the Logitech program, but you should be able to still control settings and see how it responds in OBS.

Or... you could just use the built-in camera properties in OBS as Banyarola said. The C920 uses a specialized control panel, which should be familiar.

I think what he means by this is the webcam (assuming C920) has a limitation on zooming in when using the OBS camera feature instead of the Logitec webcam software. The issue is even if you open OBS, then open the Logitec webcam software and try to zoom in on the black preview, the camera is still only going to zoom in about 30% instead of the full 100% zoom feature capability for when your NOT running OBS in the background. When you use the webcam software along, you are able to zoom in 100% but if OBS is running in background, something is causing the C920's to zoom in only 30% of its full capacity.
