Gear: HDMI capture card & on-board audio line in.

Goal: Drop the audio from the hdmi, and override with the line-in audio. Since I want to maintain the audio across all scenes, while the capture card get periodically screen time.

Scenario: intro scene with some text, then camera shows the presenter (via hdmi capture card which contains audio), show some slides, back to presenter, some slides, etc

I want to drop the horrible sound of the camera, and use the wonderful audio from a sound desk instead throughout the broadcast.

Can I drop all hdmi audio and use analogue audio in stead?

Thank you

If your HDMI capture device has a separate audio channel, which most do, you can easily just set OBS' default audio device to your computer's line in. This will make only the line in audio audible, while still allowing input from a microphone connected directly to the computer.

Likewise, you can also set the microphone device to line in, and keep the device audio set to the HDMI capturedevice's audio channel, and mute the capture device audio as needed in order to stream both audio through line in and through the device.
