usb port

how do I tell osb to look at usb port for video capture device

Find the sources box in OBS, click the + on the bottom right, in the menu chose capture divice.

I have done that and it defaults to the display. Somewhere there is a place to click and tell obs to go to the usb port. I found that earlier but cannot remember where I found it.

click + in the source list and pick ADD VIDEO CAPTURE DEVICE...It should be there for you to select..

the video capture device is plugged into usb and there is a box to click to tell obs to go there but I cannot find the box

In that box just click NEW on the next window pick SELECT YOUR DEVICE...

the problem is that the device is connected to the usb port and obs does not see it. Somewhere on obs is a box to check usb and I cannot find it
