Question / Help Upgrading Computer for better Stream and Gaming

Hi

my specs are: AMD Athlon X4 640 with 3.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM ( i think DDR 1333 MHz, but could also be 1066MHz) and HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E. I play StarCraft at the native resolution of my monitor 1680x1050 on Low Details. I stream with a Downscale factor 1.5, qualtity 10 or 9 (not sure right now, will edit), preset superfast and a bitrate of 2000 with the same buffer. Everything is alright now, but things are gonna change.

I have some spare money, not much, and i wanna buy a new, bigger monitor. Since the native resolution will change, i will properply play SC2 in Full HD. This will properbly make some trouble with my streaming settings, so i was thinking of upgrading my computer.

Possibilities:

1. Buy a new Computer + Monitor: min 750€, which is more money i wanna spent
2. Buy new Mainboard, new processor, new RAM, ne gfx card + new monitor: min 500€, also more money i wanna spent, but if i would do this: which processor should i buy?
3. Upgrade to a AMD Phenom II X4 965. According to Benchmarks, it has 20% more power than my current processor. Since SC2 and streaming are processor intense operations, i think this 20% could matter. I would also buy new RAM (8GB), so would have to spent 380€ (450€ with new GFX Card)
4. Just buy new RAM and overclock my current processor.

My Goal is not only to be able playing in Full HD. I would also like to play in better details and stream better resolution. I hope some of you have some advices, since i am not so fit with hardware specs and what is needed.

an overclocked i7 3770K and a new motherboard will fix most of your streaming problems if all you want is to stream starcraft at a high quality high fps.. your gpu can be trouble if you want to play some gpu demanding games at 1080p and+ with high effects. but i believe that it should be no problem with starcraft.

This processor alone is too expensive
Core i5-3570K is around 70 buck's down in price if you want to overclock at all (its very close in performance when both are reasonably overclocked) if not a Core i5-3570 is 100 bucks cheaper at ~200

I'd recommend the 3570K, and yes, it costs around 200€. I myself have a 2500K, pretty much the same but one generation older. It'll do fairly well in most cases, though the i7 should to a lot for streaming. If it's too expensive, you could check out lower end i5 3xxx cpus.

i think upgrading to intel is too expensive. need new mainboard and processor, maybe even better power supply or would be 550 Watt sufficient?

wtf, i just relized when i was thinking about overclocking, that my cpu reaches a critical temp while streaming and gameing ;-o. but why that?? grml have to look into my pc

i think you convinced me. you and my hot cpu ^^ will buy a intel i5 3570K, ASRock H61M-S, 8 GB RAM and the new monitor. maybe the monitor after chrismas

My new Hardware is arriving tomorrow. I was now wondering if my old Hardware is strong enough as a streaming PC in a 2 PC Streaming setup. e.g. i would play sc2 on high details in 1050p on my new pc, capture it with a capture card to the old pc and encode it there. would the athlon 3,0 ghz be strong eneoguh for that?
