Upgraded to latest, lost audio into recording and livestream

Help! The audio recording bar is working normally but nothing is being recorded. No changes in sources or outputs. No output from Monitors either. Also, some sort of limiter showed up on audio input - nothing in filters but there is a hard limit just before the red bar.

Apparently we can't download older versions like 27.1.1.
If I uninstall and install the only version I downloaded (26.0.2) will the old version pickup settings?
We use a simple 2 camera system with audio from the mixer.
 
Tried a lot of Windows and OBS settings, finally got one camera with audio into recording and live stream. And the limiter function disappeared. But changing scenes caused the audio to fade out as if the next scene had no mixer listed. There's only one mixer feed and the meters always show sound.

What do other OBS users do to monitor actual recording/live stream levels? The meters only show input to OBS.
 
Final solution was to reinstall the same version on top of the installed version.
No loss of settings.

INFO: reinstall has no options (like repair or warning). It just does it.
