So I build my Coffee Lake system and tried out obs recording with x264, 720p60fps, very high 4500kbit. I was suprised that the video is butter smooth but it looks like i record with 2000 kbit or something like that. With my Haswell 4460 system the video was sharp and clear but laggy due to high cpu usage. Am I missing something on how to archive the same image quality on my coffee lake system?

Well, your CQP setting is a little high.

try the recording quality presets under Settings > Output when in Simple output mode. In the recording section, change the Recording Quality to Indistinguishable Quality, and then select NVENC as your encoder.

I don't see any reason you need to be in advanced settings in that log, and it's likely hurting you.

Well I'm new to OBS so I copied tutorials I found. It's just strange that my old CPU gave a better image quality with the exact same OBS setting. But i will try your idea.

Don't follow random tutorials online that claim "best settings"

There is no such thing, and the people making them rarely have any idea what they're talking about.

Okay it looks like I found the error. I used the Auto configuration Wizard and had my game I want to record/stream in the background. It set my process priority to high and everything looks good now.
