Bug Report Updating to v24 Results in Corrupt Output Videos

After updating to v24, output videos (mp4 format) are corrupt. Green/pick inverted color mix with diagonal flipped sections or just all green. See screenshots. Looks fine while recording in OBS Studio.

Downgrading back to v23.2.1 fixed it.

Thanks Harold,

I have always used the save to MP4 feature because its more convenient for editing. It has never failed in my few years of using OBS. Why would I want to add an additional/Remux step to my workflow?

I do know that MP4 containers can get corrupted if not terminated correctly, if OBS or my PC crashes. Many file formats are like that. I can't remember that ever happening.

So is there another reason not to use this feature in OBS?

In one of your posts you imply there are many. Googling around I don't see one yet. I just see these references.

Because historically vegas has been incompatible with recordings from OBS that do not get that remux step.
If you save directly to mp4, vegas is more likely to be incompatible with the recording.
If you save to mkv then remux (which you can choose to do automatically) then vegas is a LOT more likely to read the recording.

You should also be checking your recordings in VLC.

I have never used Sony Vegas.

Looks like the reasoning for not supporting direct save to MP4 may be outdated. With this container being so ubiquitous, that's a shame.

Just want to say, i don't have any problems with Vegas Pro and directly saved MP4 files from OBS.
I also don't want that extra remuxing step, because it takes such a long time on big files.

In 3 years of many recording sessions, i never had an corrupted recording with MP4, so i'll take the risk ;)

Vegas compatibility isn't the only reason to never save directly to mp4.
You also need to factor in that an interrupted recording will NOT save when you save directly to mp4.
