Updated to Win11 - OBS randomly freezing

Hi, anyone encountered this problem? After upgrading to win11 suddenly this problem appeared. Any solution for this is appreciated! Thanks!

Ryzen 5 3500x
1650S
16Gb RAM

I've also encountered this issue, as have others. In my case, I'll be livestreaming, and OBS will suddenly crash, go to 0 KBPS, and be unresponsive until I kill it in Task Manager.

Here's a link to a similar thread:

Hopefully, the devs are aware of this, and will work to remedy it in the next build.

Did you try turning off the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Settings>System>Display>Graphics>Default Graphics Settings and also Gamemode in windows? After turning these both off, I tried recording Apex Legends and didn't encounter the problem tho I feel like my frames are suffering without these settings (maybe im a bit paranoid).

Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling is turned off on my PC, as I run OBS in administrator mode. I leave Gamemode on, but I have tried turning it off, and it doesn't make any difference.

I've encountered this issue too. Recently I reinstalled Windows and was "forcefully" upgraded to Windows 11 (long story short: usb flash I made from HP's cloud recovery tool installed 11 and now 10) and now OBS studio cannot stay open without freezing entirely. The program becomes unresponsive, screen freezes, and the audio shows some activity before dying too.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled OBS with and without streamelements ad-on, I've turned on high performance and power savings for obs, ran as admin, ran in compatibility mode, adjusted bitrate, resolution sizes, encoders, and nothing has worked. I'm aware that there are issues with Windows 11 that Microsoft recently admitted to (a bit one being a degradation of HD/SSD/NVMe performances) and I'm sure that with time this will get resolved.

Oddly enough, streamlabs OBS doesn't have as many issues and runs mostly fine. It's frozen on me twice in the last two days and yesterday I had a massive performance issue as a result of streamlabs but no cpu/gpu/ram spikes at all. For the time being I'm going to use Streamlabs OBS until I can manage to downgrade the OS back to Windows 10 but until then, I've got this issue like the rest of yall. Maybe the devs will be able to find a fix for this soon.

Side note: The freezes on OBS happen regardless of recording or streaming and yes, I've tried turning hardware acceleration off and on and there's no difference.

PC Specs:
i9-10850k
GTX 3080
32 GB RAM
NVMe 1tb SSD
2 tb HDD
OBS installed on NVMe.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
I'm seeing the same problem; after an upgrade to Windows 11 I started seeing Dropped packages and the video freezing up or dropping altogether.
I thought at first that it was an issue with the Bandwidth or ISP; but even with a temporary upgrade to our Internet service we still had issues with streaming to FB.

Updating the Video and Processor Drivers, the issue hasn't come back. I saw 10 dropped packets when the stream started but after the streaming stopped [approximate 2 hours] there wasn't any more dropped packets.

I just upgraded to Windows 11 and am having the same issue. Running in compatibility mode, installing the latest version of OBS, checking if drivers are current, none helps for long. I am having to end the OBS task and then restart OBS several times in an hour long session. Has anyone overcome this issue?

I having the same problem since upgrading to win 11
Impossible to transmit MSFS 2020 with heavy addons. I have a I7 8700K machine, 32 G RAM and a 3080 NVIDIA and i simply cannot transmit anymore using addons like FENIX or PMDG.. The exactly same problem and nothing I do solve it... :(

Have same error, OBS randomly go to 0kb/s - dock panel with chat is working , but other is freezed - only killing from task manager helps. I'm on windows 11 a long time - since release , but such problem with OBS is showed up recently, probably after v29 and some windows updates

I am checking an solution given from a friend on facebook brazilian OBS group... Back to old OBS used on windows 10. I will test 27.2.4 version with compatibilty mode... First test tonight
