Unstable bitrate on Twitch only with fiber.

Hey everyone,

I open this topic in order to get some help because i got a very annoying problem when i'm streaming on Twitch.

I currently have a PC with a Ryzen 7 3700X, a Nvidia GTX 1070, 24 GO RAM and a fiber connection with 1000mb/s download and 100 mb/s upload.

But my problem is when i start streaming on Twitch with OBS Studio. The bitrate drops randomly without any reason from 6000 to 2000 or 1000,ect..
Sometimes i can stream 2 hours in a row without any drops. Looks like the drops are happening randomly.

I tried everything i could see on forums, without success.

I tried to stream on Youtube in order to check how the bitrate is reacting, and it's going very well, i have no drops at all on Youtube.

I don't get why do I have drops only with Twitch, i leave it to you guys in order to help me and try to solve this problem.

Here my OBS settings:

Encoder: x264
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Lowering the resolution doesn't help)
Bitrate: 6000 (Lowering it doesn't help)
CPU charge: veryfast
Keyframe: 2

Thank you very much.

Hello,

I renew this post because the problem has not been solved yet and it's so weird. Let me explain why.

I joined my OBS log and the Twitch Test log.

As you can see, the Twitch Test result is really weird, i got opposite results from one server to another. Some servers give me a quality result of 0 (on this log it's spain only, but on the previous tests i could go 3 or 4 servers with 0 quality, but today i got only one).

Looks like the bandwith quality is random on each servers, depending on the moment i execute the test.

Another surprising result is the Milan(2) server quality, on this log it's 92 with 10k+ kbps bandwith, it's been the first time i get a good result like this (usually i get 6k-8k kbps average bandwith on this one).
Seeing this result, i immediately configured OBS on Milan(2) servers and did a stream test but i still got unstable bitrate, even if i got a perfect result on Twitch test.

Hope you guys can help me.

Thank you !

Assuming you're in EU, those ping times are awful and suggest major problems with your connectivity. With 100mbps upload you should have no trouble maintaining 10000kbps to all servers. If your internet tests OK otherwise and other services are working OK, it looks like your ISP has problems with their routing to Twitch.

Have you tried running a test stream without Dynamic Bit Rate enabled.

Settings > Advanced > Network - Uncheck: Dynamically change bitrate to manage congestion

I've had users report similar issues as you have and unchecking this helped remedy their issues specifically with Twitch.
Don't ask me why how. Maybe R1CH can elaborate.
