Hello OBS Forums,

i‘ve tried to search the internet for my problem but to no avail.

I try to stream on youtube 1080p60
my internet connection is 1000 down 25ish up

i‘ve set my stream to x264 @ 10k bitrate

if i have nothing visible on the stream, i never drop below the 10k. but as soon as i display anything (desktop, browser, games…) my bitrate drops to 2-4k. i have frameskips because of the network but i checked everything i could already. i tried a new switch, new ethernet cable, , the amd endcoder, different resolutions, empty stream with only 1 display source and nothing else…. but nothing helps… please someone help me!

my specs are:

cpu: ryzen 9 5900x
gpu: radeon 7900xtx
32gb ram

You have network frame drops. Follow the guide and contact your service provider. You will probably have to greatly reduce the bitrate, refuse to broadcast to YouTube, or change the provider.

weirdly enough, if i stream to youtube with vpn activated, my bitrate is stable…
Because you are changing the route to the destination server. Again, the problem is probably with your ISP. You can also select backup youtube servers in broadcast settings. It can also help to use a restream service.
