Question / Help Unmovable Chat Window

At some point I popped the chat dock out of the main window and I can no longer move it around. I have FFZ and the add-on pack installed on my browser, if that matters, but I cannot remember if that changed anything. I did this a while back and have just been putting up with it.

As you can see, there's not a window on the chat like everything else, and I can't click anywhere on it to drag it around. Any help would be appreciated, as I have almost no clue what I'm doing, and have not seen this problem in any other threads. That said, not having a log file gives me a bad feeling.

In the chat screen, you see a gear icon, this is for settings. Can you click on that and provide screenshot of the options you see there.

You must unlink your stream from OBS, then link it again. the chat window will reset itself.

  • settings
  • stream
  • disconnect account
  • then connect account

I am having this exact same issue. I tried following these steps and I restarted OBS before reconnecting my account and now I have 2 stream chat windows - the one thats still stuck and a fresh one I can move around.

You can also Adjust the resolution of your Display on your Monitor temporarilly, I took my 2560X1440 monitor to 1920X1080 and it seemed to do the trick, just make sure to change it back afterwards.

Great suggestions. I found another way to move the chat window instead of unlinking your account. Click on the chat window to make sure it's selected. Now hold the Windows Key and press left (or right arrow key) until the chat window ends up in a spot where you can actually adjust it. This should work for a variety of other situations where a window gives you trouble like that as well.

Thank you so much Drumjod. I just resigned in yesterday and it sometimes still does that error. This saved me some time!

Top Bar -> Docks -> Reset Docks
Then same bar get back chat window and you can move it normally.
None of the other solutions here worked for me.
