Question / Help Unable to select another x instance running in another virtual terminal

Hi,

I started another virtual terminal with an app like

xinit /usr/sbin/soffice -- :1 vt8

but when I restarted obs running in vt7 (the default one), it fails to detect the new xserver. Or did I do something wrong?

Unfortunately this is not possible since obs needs to be on an active xserver to be able to render. Switching to a different xserver (on another vt) will stall the obs rendering and therefore the recording.

i experienced the same thing, if the x server isn't being actively rendered and on screen, obs has nothing to record.
