Question / Help unable to play video..

so, i recorded a BF3 metro match..
2 hours fun, video file 9.4GB ,source 1920x1200 output 1280x800 nvehc codec. at 30 fps
bitrate of 8000 (hey, i want some quality)

but when i want to play the video.
ANY video player i have is hanging,,and the video that was there, was like a slideshow picture every 30 seconds.
but a video, with the same setting, 20 minutes, 1.3GB size, does play.
so,, what is going on here ??
i use primarly mpc-hc ,and its says H/W ,what is hardware decode..
GFX is GTX970 ,W10, Core I3 2400 ,16GB ram ,board is ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8P67
ok, not the high end, but it is the only game i play
 
ok,, what ever i try,, 1st video is perfect, than all end up black screened, or slide show...
what ever i do, doesnt work, old driver, new driver, doesnt work.......
 
Please, find the log-file from this recording and post it here. It can help to investigate what happened.
 
uh, got several one, i tried gamecap mode to, but bf3 crashes in it.
i simply atached all of them, bcouse i didntr found the proper one.

The only 2017-05-23-15-36-30-txt log file has similar length and small lag in rendering - you overloaded your video card. Try to reduce in game settings. Nothing more. You can remux the video by obs main menu File>Remux Recordings and try to playback remuxed file again.

By the way, why you are using RGBA as color format?
 
uh, i am already on lowest in BF3.
and the remux ?
wow, didnt know it, it did the job..
as for RGBA ?uh, cant see where to change, in advanced i have nv12, color space 601, collor range partial...
so i guess there is the isue ?
 
Don't know is it even problem or just how encoder work. If remuxing helped you, then nothing to change (remuxing the file by that OBS Studio option is lossless) just leave your setup as is.
 
ok,, it did help for the half,, the black screen, no go,,, the slideshow, also no go.
now a interesting part, IF i simply record desktop, all ok, but ok,,, files still are big, so, when i import it in virtualdub for recompression, it says no video, but ok, thats a other part, weard thing is however, on MOV format i could import, but now it wont work...
 
ok, the virtualdub isue i found,, OBS project biger as 1600x1200 cant be imported, while fraps project that are 1920x1200 can be, oh wel, doesnt mater , just awake, on coffee, and gonna look at the links !

oh, and i noticed something weard.
seems i can make 3 or 4 recordings with nvehc, than all black, unless i reboot the computer....
looks like a lock on the hardware encoder in the gtx970 for me.
