Question / Help Unable to get second RTSP IP webcam source to work

I have no problem getting a single RTSP source to work using a cheap IP camera in the following format

rtsp://[redacted]:[redacted]@192.168.190.132:554/live0.264

but when I try to create a second source (to have a second security camera stream as a small window on the output) it just doesn't work. It creates a small red dot in the top left of the preview window but that's not selectable. The video doesn't appear in the properties window of the second source either...

Both streams work fine when pasted in a 'network stream' in VLC (with the L/P included in the URL)

Is this a limitation of only being able to have a single RTSP source in OBS? I have tried to do some reading of the docs and forum but haven't found any smoking guns.

You should be able to use both. Can you watch both streams in separate instances of VLC running at the same time on your streaming computer?

Also have you tried the VLC Source in Studio?

VLC source requires VLC to be installed on your system, with the correct bitness.

I can watch both sources simultaneously in VLC on the same PC. The screenshot above also shows the red dot in the top left of the preview window.

I didn't know there was a VLC source in OBS! I have tried the window capture on the VLC window and that works but is incredibly inelegant. I can't see a specific VLC source - would that require VLC to act as an in intermediary between the camera and OBS?

Aargh - sorry gents... You can ignore me now... After exiting and restarting OBS the second RTSP source works as expected... Sorry, I am old enough to know better and to try that usually :-)

And just FYI. It's replicable. Added a third camera and it didn't work until after I had exited and restarted OBS.

Don't feel bad. That happens to everyone.

As to the VLC source, you have to install the same 'bitti-ness' of VLC as you use OBS. That means if you're using the 64-bit OBS you need to install the 64-bit VLC for that source option to show up.

I need Help. I have a Camera IP. In OBS chat, someone told me the same, that will need vlc source. Sorry my Ignorance. I have installed VLC 64 bits on windows. I can not understad how to install vlc source? Please. How to configure this . Is there step by step to do this vlc source to OBS runs well?
