Unable to get full camera width/proper aspect-ratio. Only allowing a nearly-square recording possibility.

I have literally gone piece-by-piece through every possible menu, and no settings seem to change this...
I simply can not get the full width of the image my camera is able to take to display/record in OBS - is this normal? WHAT am I doing wrong?
The camera is a Logitech Brio, very capable. Even when I use the frickin' Zoom program, it will display the full, HD/4K aspect ratio - a significant percentage wider. I simply cannot get OBS to "interpret" and display the image from the Brio to its fullest capacity.
God I hope someone has an answer. I do NOT want to have to default to Zoom in an must-record emergency again.
Thanks!

You should be able to set a custom resolution in the Video Capture Device settings:

You may also want to try the latest Logitech Capture software; it can make in-camera adjustments that SHOULD be possible through standard UVC device config, but Logitech for some reason made it so only their software can set it properly.

That said, I had absolutely horrible luck with the Brio. I found them to be almost unusable; I have two sitting on my shelf gathering dust at the moment, because they absolutely refuse to behave. I ended up giving up on them and going with a DSLR+Capture card instead, out of sheer frustration with how terrible they were. The $200 price tag on each is the only thing keeping me from literally setting them on fire or beating them to pieces with a hammer in an attempt to gain some measure of catharsis.

Well, I wrote a response, but before hitting enter, did another search...
And I was not even LOOKING for "Brio" and "OBS" but rather "Brio" and "aspect ratio" alone, and came across the thingy on Reddit that I have attached as an image (which wound up at the bottom.)
Looks like someone was having the same problem 2 years ago... and it did not look like the issue was resolved.
The stupid thing is, in the menu where it lets you select the resolutions under "settings" - it CLEARLY states the (UNCHANGABLE!) aspect ratios to the right of the pull-down menus as... 16:9... WTF?...

So, I guess it seems you are right about the Logitech Brios. If I still had the box, I'd try to return the damn thing, despite it being well past the "allowed" date. Buggers.

(Grumble) Oh well, back to the camera drawing board.

I'm open to recommendations if you've got any!

Here's the post describing someone else's same damn problem.

That is Settings->Video, which determines your Canvas size and downscale output resolution (if applicable), NOT your source input resolution. That will not change your camera resolution.

To change your input source resolution, you need to right-click on the Brio's source in the Sources list, go to Properties, and change the box that I put a yellow arrow beside up above.
