Question / Help Twitch Viewers Losing Capture Device Audio

So I recently purchased an Elgato HD60 S+.

Occasionally, the audio will continue to transmit to my headset via the "Monitoring Device" in Audio Settings, but my viewers on Twitch cannot hear the audio being transmitted via the Capture Device. I can confirm that I still see the DB bar moving during these times in OBS Studio on the sound setting I have for the HD60 S+ in the Audio Mixer.

The only fix I have discovered so far is to end the stream, close OBS Studio, and restart it, and poof, they hear audio perfectly once I boot the stream back up.

Does anyone have any idea why it would be doing this? And if so, what I need to do to fix it?

Hello Traxym.

I too recently purchased an Elgato HD60 S+ for the purpose of streaming to Twitch.tv. My problem is a little different than yours, in that I've never gotten any audio on Twitch. In fact, I've never seen evidence of audio in OBS Studio. I don't know whether it doesn't see my monitoring device, or whether the capture device simply isn't sending audio to the laptop. The result is that I'm not getting audio anywhere other than on the device (i.e., the television) connected via the pass-through connection. Anyway…

Please forgive me if this sounds absurd, but I have to ask the obvious. Is there any chance that your Twitch audience has forgotten to turn on the stream's audio? My experience is that on Twitch, streams start with the audio muted.
