Question / Help Twitch starts to buffer, the stream is lagging

Hello.

Lately I've been streaming a lot and my viewers constantly complains that it lags. I've even watched myself and it really does.
I have a really good computer which is way above the standards for streaming in 720p. I also have 90 download and 90 upload when doing speedtests.

Whenever I'm streaming it says it's not dropping any frames and the bitrate is as it should. I have changed servers from london to sweden countless of times in hope to stop the lag. I have gone through the settings and changed them in hope of any success.
I am even playing online games and the connection is stable so that can't be the problem. One thing I've noticed is that the longer I stream the longer it falls behind.

Whenever I watch the playbacks on the stream there is no lagg and no skipping.

Unfortunately I haven't found a solution yet and I'm wondering if you guys could help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Buffering means you aren't able to download the video data from Twitch as fast as the streamer is uploading it, nothing to do with OBS. If you're streaming at 3000 Kbps and I can only get 2000 Kbps down from Twitch, the video will buffer constantly while I try to watch. The only solution is to lower your streaming bitrate.

People tend to be able to watch any other stream without lag. It's mine that laggs.
How come I can't watch my own stream without lagg with a 90mb download? That doesn't make any sense since I can watch any other stream with the highest quality.

Just because you have 90 Mbps down doesn't mean you can get that speed from every server on the internet. Twitch has to be able to send the data to you that fast as well, and the server they send that data from and how that data is routed to you have an effect on the speed. The buffering issue affects a lot of people with far more bandwidth than the 3-4 Mbps needed to watch a live stream.

Yeah I get that. But how would my stream be the only one buffering. Surely there are people with better settings out there which I can be able to watch without any lag what so ever.

I don't know how else to explain it to you. You are not the only one buffering. When someone sees "Buffering" it means they aren't getting data fast enough from the server - the streamer is sending out data a certain speed, and the viewer is getting it from the server slower than that speed. That's it. There is no magic setting to fix it, other than the bitrate you configure in OBS. Different streamers can have their content served from different locations depending on a number of factors including partnership, so some streams might buffer while others are okay.

When talking about twitch, you can almost always say that it's a twitch issue, not yours. Even dailymotion works better. Try other streaming services - there're plenty of them, and this is what is recommended to do on official twitch support forums, because twitch doesn't give a hell about their problems.
