Hey guys, Id normally just wait it out but since I just started itll be a while before I find out without asking so might as well post for it. For whatever reason, an internet window being open reks my stream. Its perfect without one open but if chrome or whatever is open my stream is ugg. So I was wondering if the alerts will still sound off even if twitchalerts isnt open in the browser, as long as I have the source set up. thanks

It makes it ugly. Ive stressed over it enough and I dont care bout that anymore. It works when the browser isnt open so its whatever

Having a browser open cannot really decrease the quality of your stream.
Anyway, most people use the CLR browser plugin to use twitchalerts.

I dont know. When I have a browser open it lags. thats all there is to it for that. when no browser is open it doesnt lag. anyway, i have the clr browser plugin, but I just need to know if it will still alert if anything happens even if twitch alerts is not open on the browser

I guess im just retarded or something so I'm sorry for wasting your time but could you just answer with yes or no, do I need to have the browser with TwitchAlerts open in order for it to play the notification on stream?

Just to clear up the issue... A browser open (chrome especially lately) lags your stream because it's causing high CPU usage. I have this same problem because I'm saving up to build a whole new rig. So no, you're not retarded and the Mod should know better than to assume that it would have no effect on your stream. ALL computer usage during a stream affects the stream. Some of it is noticeable and some of it isn't.

I'm glad you asked this question because this is what I was looking for as well. Happy that OBS can manage to use alerts with out the browser window open :D
