Question / Help Tutorials miss this

With all software this occurs . I am not using it the same as you so you will not explain what I am trying to do .What Im doing is this ,I want to record one screen and play back one screen .So far I cannot do this ,there are always 2 or more screens being displayed , so tell me how ,like there is a un lock view and drag somehow but still cant do it . thanks nik
