Question / Help Trying to understand how Twitch handles Stream Transcoding

Hi, i ran into a question that i cannot find an answer to: How does Twitch handle and distribute Streams.

I send my Stream to Twitch in 1200p@48 to get around some Problems. For one, it leaves a bit more time for each frame to be rendered and recoded than at 60 fps while making the stream a bit more fluent than 30 fps. 1200p is necessary due to my main monitor. My Community does not mind having black bars.

We know, Twitch uses a transcoder to enable users to choose their resolution and the Stream gets transcoded. But does it transcode the fps as well? When checking the quality options, only source(1200p) and 720p show the source fps, every other option doesn't. To me, it seems that those other options are 30 fps.
