Question / Help Trying to stream with the NVENC Encoder always ends up with hangs

Hey there, for about a day now i've been trying to set up a stream encoded with NVENC instead of x264 because the current cpu i'm rolling with does not simply have the horsepower to run x264.

However whatever NVENC preset i used always ended up with minihangs on high movement scenes, the fps on the video would drop from 60 to 13 for about a second then go back to 60 smooth goodness again. I can't seem to figure out what to do in this situation.

I tried streaming with the actual Shadowplay application Nvidia released and it's 60fps smooth without any hangs/hitches whatever it is that i'm experiencing but in OBS no matter what setup i used nothing helped. I'll link how the streams looks here:

Shadowplay streaming:
http://www.twitch.tv/mephr1/v/30931878 shows no hangs and it's 60 fps constantly

OBS Streaming:
http://www.twitch.tv/mephr1/v/30931991 If you click show video stats fps drops from 60 to 13 fps

Ignore my weird voice and my friends :^)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your internet upload speed? Bitrate of 3000 might be too high?

When you stream with shadowplay I hear buffering complaints on voice chat. Buffering problem may happen to all viewers when streamer don't have enough upload speed and stability.

When you stream using OBS, it tries to frame skips to avoid lagging behind too much, but this also cause by not enough upload speed or is unstable.

I don't know why, but when I view your OBS video on twitch, and then, use "livestreamer" to download your video and play in VLC, i get different frame skip behavior. Play video on twitch have lots of small frame freezes, and download and play on VLC player have a single, 4 second long frame freeze. Why the different behavior of the same video, different player?

My upload and download are 100 up 100 down. Hmm but you did give me something to look into with the downloading of the twitch vod.

I did download the videos and indeed while the shadowplay video seems to have more crisp colors and quality neither of them skip anymore while played in vlc i honestly can't wrap my head around it but i suppose i'll keep trying different setups/framerates until i find something to share.
