Hi, I am currently trying to record videos at 1080p 60FPS but every time my video is choppy.

My computer specs are

I look at other forum posts and videos but nothing seems to be helping me. This is a brand new computer I purchased two days ago. If I record with the capture DVR Xbox tool then it records fine at 1080p but I can't get OBS to work. Any suggestions are welcomed.

So I would need to get an adapter from a DVI to a VGA? Just making sure before I go and purchase.
You can only convert to VGA if it's a DVI-I connector, not DVI-D... And I guess your card only has DVI-D, in which case you need a different type of adapter. But you should check first.

But are you sure your monitor does not have a digital input? DVI/DP/HDMI are all much better options.

Are you sure the card does not have HDMI? All pictures I've seen of GTX 1060 has HDMI.

What brand is yours? Do you know?

If it doesn't have native HDMI, a DVI-HDMI adapter is much better than going for VGA.

I do have an HDMI input but but the only way for me to connect to the NVIDIA GPU is through s DVI adapter

Every single brand of the GTX 1060 I see online has either 1 or 2 HDMI ports.

1) Are you CERTAIN it's a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060?
2) If so, what brand is it? (ASUS, PNY, MSI, etc.)

Yes he has an GTX 1060 3G indeed. But the same goes for the 3G Version they all have 1 DVI usually 2 HDMI and 2 DP if depending on your Monitor I would recommend going for DP or DVI I doubt a 1080p Monitor doesnt have an DVI input
