Question / Help Trying to get Project Resources

Hey,

So I'm sort of new to OBS, but I'm working on a project about the significance of film and was trying to get clips from Youtube, and movies that I have digital copies of. I dealt with the laptop Nvidia black screen issue, and managed to get some footage from Youtube, but none of my digital copy footage seemed to cooperate resulting in me having footage of darkness. I use Chrome, and was looking to see how I could get these clips from my digital copies, and any help is welcome. Thanks!

If you want to download videos from youtube there is a tool called youtube-dl
this also works for twitch VODs and Clips
and a few other sites as well

For Browser Recording you have to DISABLE hardware acceleration in browser

Spoiler: Edge Browser

Open Settings.
Click on System.
Click on Display.
Click the Graphics settings link.
Use the "Choose an app to set preference" drop-down menu and select the Universal app option.
Select Microsoft Edge using the second drop-down menu.

Spoiler: Firefox

Click the menu button and choose Options.Preferences.
Select the Advanced panel and the General tab.
Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.

Spoiler: Chrome

Open Google Chrome.
Click Customize and Control Google Chrome > Settings.
Click on Show advanced settings and scroll to the System section,
Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available and restart Google Chrome.
