Before i get to my actual question here, i feel the need to say that my recording setup is centered on an older ASUS laptop with 1st hen intel i5 that can strangely run relatively high load games like dishonored, Mass Effect 2, and Rage with nearly imperceptible frame drops (im talking maybe a maximum of 5 frames every so often).
All that said, i use OBS to record, and for the most part it has worked amazingly for some of my games, but recently i have experienced some major frame drops in terms of seconds of footage being dropped in recording. After looking at some guides and videos on how to setup my software to prevent this i found that a few of them recommend recording to a separate drive. My question here is this: since i have been recording to the same drive as the games being run, would that possibly be causing these frame drops, and has anyone found that they get better recordings from making this simple change to writing their recordings to a separate drive?
Unfortunately i cannot include a log file at present, as i am at work, but i will add a log to this post when i get home and to my computer.
