Trying to figure out if I can make it work with a MacBook Air M2

Hi everyone. So I’ve been doing some research on how to use my MacBook Air M2 as a monitor for my PS5. I think I’ve got it all figured out except for one thing. I’ve download OBS, that was the easy part. I’m thinking of getting the Elgato HD60 X capture card.

My understanding is that it’s supposed to go PS5 > HDMI cable > HD60 X > HDMI cable > MacBook, and then the capture card is of course powered directly off the MacBook.

My issue is that the MacBook Air M2 doesn’t have an HDMI port. So if get an additional HDMI to USB-C adapter to go between the HDMI cable and the MacBook, will that work?

Thanks!

No, the HDMI on a MacBook would be an output, and any USB-C to HDMI adapter similar is for HDMI output (one for HDMI input would be for a USB-C monitor -- the computer wouldn't treat it as an input). You connect it to the computer using USB -- get a USB-C to USB-C cable, or a C to A adapter to use with the cord the that came with it
