Question / Help Trying to compare, but I don't know how :(

Hi, I am trying to compare video STREAMING quality between Shadowplay and OBS. I hear OBS is better but I need to see it with my own eyes.

I just have no idea how to do it. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can compare streaming quality between these two?

what you can do is set up obs to record your game, also set up shadowplay, and start recording with both systems at the same time and compare the videos

You can compare NVENC of shadowplay with NVENC of OBS
OR you could compare NVENC of Shadowplay to x264/quicksync/nvenc of OBS.

In the first case, just create 2 videos, one with each program, using the exact same settings and if possible the exact same visual input (for example a benchmark course of a game that always plays exactly the same).
In the second case, you would have to create at least 4 videos and find similar settings between the different encoders which will get quite complicated.
In any case, make sure nothing like downscale, filters, etc. affect the input.

"Streaming" (aka low bitrate) quality of nvenc is really poor, regardless of what tool you use (encoder used is based on your hardware in this case). High action scenes will always look like a chewed lego, so if you intend to stream something that is fast paced and visually rich - i'd suggest you look away from nvenc.
