Question / Help Trouble with Window Capture- OBS records itself?

I tried googling this issue, and though I saw some problems relating to windows 7 users, I'm using windows 10. Window Capture worked fine up until today, when whatever I choose it'll, seemingly at random, give me a white screen, a black screen, or instead of the proper window it'll show OBS itself. One time it even recorded my desktop- another time it recorded anything that was BEHIND the proper window! This is super confusing, since I'm only trying to do the exact same thing I've been doing for weeks without any issue

What windows are you trying to capture?

I'm trying to capture one particular game (pokemon showdown), but because game capture never worked with it I've been using window capture, which worked fine until recently

looking into it more, could this be related to a recent windows update?
