One of our members is going to be ordained at the end of May, and we would like to have some of her family members record short videos that we can play during the worship service so that the people who are sitting in the sanctuary can see and hear the video AND the people who are watching the livestream can see and hear it, too. So, we tried testing it out to be sure we knew what we were doing by playing a simple video that we already had on the computer. We embedded the video into the presentation that we created in ProPresenter 7, but when it plays, it has a small amount of lag just on its own. Furthermore, when we tested it on the audience screens AND the livestream, the video bogged down and even stopped (while the audio continued without any trouble).
(Just on a whim, I tried setting up a scene in OBS that just grabs the video from the desktop, and it plays the video and audio just fine. The problem is that we, in the sanctuary, can’t see it in that case.)
Our IT guy (who installed the computer hardware) says that this computer should have MORE than enough power to handle a task like this, and so he’s wondering if it’s an issue with software. So, I’m just at a loss as to why we would experience this problem. I’m wondering if you’ve heard of anything similar? And, given what you know, is there something I’m doing wrong? Here is the detailed specs of what we’re using:
Dell Desktop Computer
Intel i7 - 10700 CPU
2.90 GHz
32.0 GB RAM
64-bit OS
Windows 10
Two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 graphics cards
Hard-wired Internet, 94 Mbps Download / 11 Mbps Upload
Running ProPresenter 7 (version 7.4.1). Livestream through OBS to Vimeo Live.
You can see what our worship service videos look like with this example from April 18th: https://vimeo.com/535537206
This might very well be beyond your ability to troubleshoot, but any help you might be able to give would be wonderful.
