The Elgato Game Capture 4k60 Pro MK2 doesn't work well in anything but THEIR software.

It ONLY gives good CONSISTANT framerates in their own software, Elgato 4K Capture Utility--quite literally in no other software, including OBS. If you, for instance, try to use it for video chats without using OBS virtual camera, it tanks to around 10fps. This is just basically a warning to anyone who might be considering buying this card. In OBS, it gets the most consistent (but not great) framerates in 60fps, less consistent in 30fps, and horribly unacceptably inconsistent in 24fps.

The Cam Link 4K provides totally consistent framerates in OBS in both 30fps and 24fps. After a couple years of struggling with the 4K60 Pro MK2 card, I finally switched back to the Cam Link 4K and have been quite happy. Just saying.

not really what the windows support category is for, but I personally have a 4k60 pro mk2 and it works fine without any of the issues you are mentioning. sounds like you may want to troubleshoot that?

I've troubleshot it for at least two years, always the same answers that never work. I've went down a dozen wild goose chases, spent hours and hours on different forums getting supposed answers from people, and the results are exactly the same. The fact that it does worse with 30fps and even worse with 24fps really doesn't make it a very good card. It should be the opposite of that, it should do worse with higher framerates, but supposedly it's because it's geared around gaming, and 24fps isn't how people generally run their games.

The only good info I've been able to find about these problems is that it doesn't like some motherboards, something about shared resources, and I'm not really feeling like replacing the motherboard in my computer just to get a card working well. The Cam Link 4K works well for me.

On THIS forum, people have told me things like don't have any scenes, start with a completely new profile with nothing else, no screen captures, nothing else, and other useless suggestions. They've told me to set the audio compression differently. They've told me to change the color settings. I've went down so many stupid wild goose chases from people who legitimately think they're offering help that I've really given up on it.

Ok, if you don't want to troubleshoot I will lock the thread. I just wanted to make it clear to anyone reading this that this issue would be something unique to your configuration, myself and many others use this capture card in OBS without issues.
