Text Videos?

I am losing my mind! I'm trying to figure out how I can make a simple text video with voice over in OBS. I would like the text to fade in and out if that's possible while I read the text aloud. These are going to be book chapters so the text is going to be lengthy.

I know I can add SOME text and filter it to scroll sideways or up or down. But with the length of the chapters if I write out the whole chapter it goes all wonky. Doesn't fit, grainy, can't see it at all... Please help. I'm losing my mind trying to figure this out on my own.

Try to use extern program (even powerpoint if that works for you), and use a window capture or screen capture in presentation mode on a second monitor.

Use any graphics software to make the text into a series of images. Load those images into OBS's slide-show source, and set the transitions to fade. The set a hot-key to advance through the slides.

Recent PowerPoint can export a slideshow as images. Or there are on-line services that can convert (I use https://www.zamzar.com/ to convert PPTX files from LibreOffice Impress)

OTOH, if you use PowerPoint itself as an OBS source, you could make use of all the transition options it allows, which would let you vary the transitions slide by slide.

Exactly. Plus the possibility to quickly adapt and change the text, its sizes and so on, if needed. LibreOffice is a good and free alternative to commercial office variants.
