Text tool adding a space at end of line?

I am having an issue when typing text, in that what appears to be a space is constantly there at the end of the text box. I cannot get the text box to only include the text I am typing. This is causing issues when I want to center the text on screen, as it will always be a bit off to the left. Example pictures included. Does anyone know what is causing this?

I have just discovered this issue is not happening if I use the old 'Text (FreeType) 2' tool in the Deprecated section. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
