Bug Report Text from file - Local Network files

Using text from file on a text file in a local network computer doesn't update the text on preview. The file is of UTF-8 so I'm not sure what to do because the way I have my things set up I can't use a local text file.

Damn. I have a bot that produces a song.txt. on a Raspberry Pi so that's why I asked. I don't know any other way of getting it to work. Maybe a work around.

Make another bot to grab the info from that text file and write it to a new text file on your local PC. Bots everywhere!

You tried adding the location as a network drive under windows?
That way it should theoretically work in OBS :)

This definitely works as it was one of the test cases I did when reworking the file change detection code. Have you checked your OBS log for any errors?

If possible, can you also specify which OS is running on that "network computer"? windows or linux / other ( if possible which Samba version) ?

Well, Sorry for necroing this, but I have the same problem. My main computer running obs is windows and my other is running ubuntu 14.04, I've mapped a network drive (Y:\) then selected the file that way. It doesn't update the preview. However, if i open the text source and click Ok it will update the text. I use samba for the file share.
I looked through my logs, but there wasn't anything about this issue.

I guess I could do a FTP every 10 seconds, but that also seems a bit stupid to have to pull the file like that.

Any help in this matter would be awesome!

Thanks in advance
