Hello guys!
As the title says, I am currently experiencing problems when I try to do a 1080p60fps stream on my main account. Funny thing is I changed my Twitch stream key to an alternate unused account just to test it out and it works fine. Meaning, I also watched the VOD after that a few times as well. However, upon switching to my main Twitch stream key, the stream stutters a bit and even the audio went all robotic on me.
Before I go on, perhaps I should let you know my current set-up. I run a DUAL PC stream set-up and I am using the latest NDI plugin and OBS Studio versions on both PCs.
Game PC:
- Ryzen 5 1600
- 16 gb RAM
- GTX 1080 TI
- B350 Tomahawk Arctic
Stream PC:
- Ryzen 7 2700X
- 16 gb RAM
- GTX 1060 6gb
- ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming
Here are the settings that I use for the Game and Stream PCs respectively.
Game PC Settings
Video Bitrate: 50000
Encoder: x264
Enforce streaming service limits: NO
Encoder Preset: Faster
Base Canvas: 2560x1440
Output Resolution: 1920x1080
Downscale Filter: Lanczos
FPS: 60
Stream PC Settings
CBR: 6000
Encoder: x264
Keyframe Interval: 2
Profile: Main / High
Enforce streaming service limits: NO
Encoder Preset: Medium
Base Canvas: 1920x1080
Output Resolution: 1920x1080
Downscale Filter: Lanczos
FPS: 60
So the thing I don't understand is why can't I stream at 1080p60fps at Medium preset. I'm pretty sure I can even push it to go to Slow preset if I overclock a little bit more, but let's just leave it at Medium for now. I am currently a Twitch Affiliate, and I know that even if I can stream 1080p60fps at Medium, the quality won't be that great since I need to stream at a higher bitrate that is only available for Twitch Partners.
But for the sake of this post, let's just forget about the optimal settings for affiliates and what not. I need help figuring out why I am not able to stream when my Streaming PC definitely has enough CPU power and RAM to stream 1080p60fps at Medium without issues. If anyone knows anything about this at all, please help me, I really need some help here.
I've done all the troubleshooting I know how, watched plenty of videos, read plenty of forums / reddits, yet I just can't seem to solve this. CPU usage seems to be between 40-60% on Stream PC whilst Game PC is less than 10%. I play Dota 2 and Fortnite, some Yakuza 0 nowadays and perhaps BO4. Anyway, here are some extra pointers to rule out some possibilities.
- Both PC's using a LAN cable individually with a connection speed of 1GBPS (Singapore's infrastructure is good)
- All Game DVRs and whatever broadcasting / NVIDIA overlays disabled
Thank you for your time taken to read my post. I know it is really long but I wanted to be as detailed as possible so that you guys can help with more information provided.
